05.b • Trauma team activation

On receiving a pre-alert message from a pre-hospital provider, a trauma team should be activated if any of the following criteria are met:


□ Trauma Triage Tool positive
□ Traumatic cardiac arrest
A □ airway obstruction / concern
B □ RR <10 or >29
□ open pneumothorax
□ flail chest
C □ massive / catastrophic haemorrhage
□ SBP >90 (sustained)
□ suspected major pelvic fracture
□ penetrating injury to neck / chest
D □ GCS motor <4
□ evidence of spinal cord injury
□ suspected open / depressed skull fracture
E □ more than 1 proximal long bone fracture
□ crushed, degloved, mangled or amputated limb
